How to download photos from Instagram

Full-size photos, not screenshots
A screenshot captures your screen, including the interface, and loses detail on portrait and landscape photos that Instagram crops in the grid. The photo downloader saves the image file itself, in the largest version Instagram keeps for the post, usually 1080 pixels wide. Portrait (4:5) and landscape photos are saved in their real proportions.
Photos are saved as JPG files that open in every gallery app and image editor. We do not compress, resize or watermark them.
Download every picture of a carousel
Carousel posts can hold up to twenty photos and videos. On the post page you can move through all of them with arrows, dots or a swipe, and the counter shows where you are. What you need – and what you do not
- You need the link of a post from a public account.
- You do not need an Instagram account, a login or an app.
- You do not need to follow the account, and the owner is not told that you saved a photo.
- Photos from private accounts cannot be downloaded, because only approved followers can see them.
Looking for a profile picture?
Profile pictures are not posts and have no link of their own. Use the Instagram profile picture viewer with the username to see and save a profile photo in full size. To browse all posts of an account instead of pasting single links, open the post viewer.
Frequently asked questions
What resolution do downloaded photos have?
You get the largest version Instagram stores for the post, which is usually 1080 pixels wide. Instagram resizes larger uploads, so the original camera file is not available from anywhere on Instagram.
Can I download all photos of a carousel at once?
Each slide is downloaded on its own. With JavaScript turned off, the post page shows a separate download link for every slide.
Is the photo downloader anonymous?
Yes. You do not sign in, and the photo is loaded by our server, so neither Instagram nor the account owner can link the download to you.
Why can the post not be found?
The post may have been deleted or archived, the account may be private, or the link may be incomplete. Copy the link again from Instagram and try once more.
May I use downloaded photos?
Photos are protected by copyright. Keep them for personal use and ask the owner before you publish, edit or sell them.
