Which Instagram videos can be downloaded?
Since Instagram merged IGTV and feed videos into reels, almost every video on the platform lives either in a reel or inside a post. The video downloader handles all of them:
- Reels – links that contain

/p/, including older IGTV links with/tv/. - Videos inside carousels – posts that mix photos and videos. Each slide can be saved on its own.
- Story videos – stories have no post link, so use the story downloader with the username instead.
Private and safe by design
You never sign in, and we never ask for your Instagram password or cookies. The video is fetched by our server and streamed to you, so the account owner cannot see who downloaded it and Instagram cannot connect the download to your profile. We do not keep copies of the videos you open.
Be careful with video downloaders that ask you to log in with Instagram or install a browser extension. Neither is needed to download public videos, and both put your account at risk.
Quality and format
The downloader saves the original file that Instagram delivers to its own app: an MP4 video, usually in HD, with sound. Nothing is re-encoded or watermarked. Very old videos or videos uploaded in low resolution cannot be made sharper than the original.
On iPhone, Safari puts the file in the Downloads folder of the Files app; from there use Share → Save Video to add it to Photos. On Android and computers the video goes to your normal download folder.

Why is there no download button?
For a few videos Instagram only provides a stream while the video plays. You can still watch them here, but there is no separate file to save.
Can I download videos from private accounts?
No. Only videos from public accounts can be opened and saved.
Is downloading Instagram videos legal?
Saving a public video for personal viewing is generally tolerated, but the video stays the creator's work. Do not repost, sell or edit it without permission, and check the rules that apply in your country.
